You can’t help but love Sunriver Resort. It is an iconic destination with cutting edge amenities, seeped in a rich history, surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty. We’re pretty big fans of Sunriver Resort, but guess what… we’re not alone! We just found out that Sunriver Resort was rated as one of the Top 10 Best Resorts in the Pacific Northwest by Conde Nast Traveler, and was rated as one of the Top 50 Family Resorts in the United States by Travel & Leisure Magazine.
Sunriver Resort is something magical in the winter. All the lights are twinkling off of the snow covered roof tops, a warm fire is usually roaring at The Lodge, and there is always something going on that keeps kids busy and parents engaged. With over 100 family-oriented events through the season, it is nearly impossible to wrap your head around everything that is going on here at Sunriver Resort during Traditions. We’re not just talking about a few lighted trees and some visits with The Big Guy from the North Pole. Traditions is all about creating a magical world in which kids can dream and adults can rekindle childhood wonder.
The year 1968 was a big one: a gallon of gas cost 34 cents, the word ‘groovy’ was officially added to Webster’s Dictionary, McDonald’s introduced the Big Mac, and the Lodge at Sunriver was built.
A lot has changed over the years, but one thing remains the same: Sunriver Resort is still the place where people come to get away and get together. The goal has always been to preserve this feeling of continuity from year to year so generation after generation can return to Sunriver and still experience the place they knew as a kid, give or take a few banana seat bikes. With tradition in mind, Sunriver Resort thoughtfully embarked on a more than $10 million investment while upgrading to the Lodge, Lodge Village rooms, and new Besson Commons area over the past three years in order to greatly improve aspects of the resort without making it unrecognizable.
