Kiewit Corporation held a Northwest Division Planning Meeting for seventy guests here at Sunriver Resort this fall. Kiewit is one of North America's largest and most respected construction and mining organizations. For over 120 years, they have delivered world-class solutions to projects of every size, in every market. It was clear before the group’s arrival; this was going to be an intensive series of meetings.

The Democratic Party of Oregon is returning to Sunriver Resort for their 2009 Oregon Summit this weekend. They will have a number of very highly placed elected officials in attendance and many will be speaking during their programs. We're expecting visits from Senators Ron Wyden and Jeff Merkley, Congressmen David Wu and Peter DeFazio, in addition to the senior democratic leadership of the Oregon Senate and the Oregon House of Representatives. Of course one of the major topics of discussion will be health care reform.
In July we launched the new “Perks Pass” for our 4 and 5 Diamond rated homes and condominiums. These amenities, such as free golf, were a hit with our guests. Bachelor at scheduled times, free tickets to the Warren Miller movie nights, and free S’mores at the Sunriver Lodge!

Ask any Sunriver Resort associate to name their favorite room in the resort and most likely their answer will be the meeting space in the Great Hall. The four walls of our Great Hall have embraced the space for countless events; hundreds of Central Oregon weddings, corporate dinners, award ceremonies, music festivals and, of course, Breakfasts with Santa. The walls of the Great Hall also embody important moments in our nation’s history.
Those that have visited Sunriver Resort have most likely heard the old adage: "Don't like the weather? Wait five minutes". Well last week Central Oregon lived up its reputation of being a place where "erratic" weather behavior can alter plans a bit.
Sunriver Resort is a great place that families have visited generation after generation, with fond memories of floating the Deschutes river, riding bikes and hiking on the paved trails, golf on the four spectacular courses, the spa, great dining, horseback trail rides, kids camps, and just being together where there is something for everyone in the family to enjoy. Many a happy memory and treasured tradition has begun by a family’s first summer vacation to Sunriver. But as we read, “To everything there is a season” nowhere is that more true than in Sunriver.
When people learn that I work at a spa, they always say how lucky I am to work in such a relaxing environment. "It must be so zen-like". Well, I am extremely lucky, but I gotta say, it is a job (a good one, but still a job). And because it is a job there is certainly a good deal of stress that goes along with it.
