Monday morning was the big day! The $500,000 reconstruction project on 18 Crosswater greens began on Hole #1 with sod being removed along with enough thatchy material to get down to the original top mix surface (approx.3-4 inches).

Growing up playing the Sunriver Resort Golf courses likely qualifies me as a spoiled child. Living on Woodlands #13 (previously #4) has always given me an inner pride in the Sunriver golf landscape, and two summers working in the Golf Outside Services department gave me plenty of opportunities to strut my confidence around. I have played the golf holes at Sunriver Resort more times than I can even begin to count.
Playing them all in one day, however, is a completely different ballgame.

Barney Adams, the CEO of Adams Golf, has always championed the idea of making the game of golf more enjoyable for the average golfer. An average golfer himself, Adams came to the conclusion earlier this year that the game of golf was not as enjoyable as he would like it to be. After conducting thorough research about why many do not enjoy golf as much as other activities, Adams found that among the top reasons were because it is too hard. With an arsenal of new information, Adams teamed with the PGA of America and the United States Golf Association to launch a program called Tee It Forward.
