As part of the Destination Hotels and Resorts, Sunriver Resort participates in an extensive environmental program called "Destination Earth". This program program is dedicated to practices and programs that pay respect to, and lessen our footprint on, our changing environment. Below are a few ways in which Sunriver Resort is reducing its engery consumption.

This past March Sunriver Resort unveiled an extensive customer service training program in which all associates are required to participate. Groundskeepers, servers, shuttle drivers, managers - everyone at Sunriver Resort has now completed training.

WorldGolf.com has announced a list of the top 20 most challenging U.S. golf courses open for public play. Ranked #13 on the list is Crosswater at Sunriver Resort. The Central Oregon golf course features five tee placements for each hole, bent grass fairways and greens and is threaded by the gently flowing Deschutes and Little Deschutes Rivers. Bringning an extra sleeve of balls is always a good idea when playing Crosswater.

High School football players from Mountain View High School and Bend High School were out at the Woodlands on Sunday June 6th for their annual Civil War Scramble Fund Raiser. The fundraiser was open to all general public with proceeds going to support both football programs. Proceeds will help the programs with all costs: football equipment along with other various program needs. “If money wasn’t raised, equipment wouldn’t exist. If you want to be a competitive program, you have to go about raising money the right way to pay for program costs” said Craig Walker, Head Coach for Bend High School. The coaches were expecting around 90 players (23 groups) for the 1:00 shotgun. Players from both sides were there in full presence dressed in jerseys and there to help with outside service tasks: setting up golf carts, loading golf bags, and sending people in the right direction. Wayne Purcell, Assistant Coach for Mountain View said, “Even though the programs compete, this is a joint effort by both programs, and proceeds are shared.” It was pretty easy to tell the two schools were rivalries as I walked past the schools split into two separate huddles in the parking lot.
