As a participating property in the 'Clean the World' program based in Orlando, Florida, Sunriver Resort donated 310.7 lbs of soap and 253 lbs of bottled amenities in the first quarter of 2011. This was enough soap to keep 144 children clean for an entire month! Additionaly, 564 lbs of waste was diverted from Central Oregon landfills.
Approximately 3.5 million children under the age of 5 will die this year due to pneumonia and diarrheal disease. 65% of these deaths could be prevented through simple hand washing. We're extremely proud to partner with the Clean the World program to help as many of these children survive as we can.
