Sunriver Resort Report

On June 6, 2010, the 66th anniversary of D-Day, Sunriver Resort is extremely honored to host a group of WWII veterans as they gather for the official designation of the WORLD WAR II VETERANS HISTORIC HIGHWAY - 325 miles of Highway 97 and a portion of State Route 126.

The Highway will be designated by 19 signs installed near 8 WWII training sites, including Sunriver, which during WWII was a 5,500 acre combat and engineer replacement training center called Camp Abbot.

The 2pm ceremony will take place in the historic Great Hall, the original officers' mess hall that was built in 1944 by the Army Corps of Engineers. The public is invited to attend.

Thank you to all Oregon WWII vets for your service and sacrifice.

Neither rain, nor sleet, nor winter-like weather could keep a number of Sunriver Associates from doing good deeds this past Saturday.

We had a number of hardy souls brave the elements on kayak and canoe at the annual Sunriver Resort Marina Clean Up:

As well as an intrepid intrepid band of Sunriver Resort associates who showed up at the new Habitat for Humanity community in La Pine to help build a storage shed as part of the United Way Day of Caring.

Come down to the Sunriver Resort Marina this Saturday morning and help us clean up the Deschutes river. We'll provide the kayaks/canoes (or bring your own) and we'll paddle downstream to the Sunriver takeout, six miles from the Marina, picking up trash along the way. A van will be waiting to take you back to the Marina.  To sign up call us during business hours: 541-593-3492.

If a  picture paints 1,000 words, what would you use to describe your perfect day?  Your wedding does not need to be gigantic to showcase your love for one another.  At Sunriver Resort, romance comes in all sizes!   We recently hosted a wedding and reception for 7 people in our  gorgeous Fireside Room.  Beautiful flowers,  candles everywhere and a crackling fire!  Not surprising that the bride’s  comment at the conclusion of the reception was, “Thank you so much for everything.  It was absolutely WONDERFUL! “
