Sunriver Resort Report

Everyone that has played Crosswater Golf Club in Central Oregon has seen the osprey nest just off to the right of the 13^th tee. Most of us have seen the eagle that calls the nest home sitting on his perch just outside the nest. But only a few have seen that eagle in flight. Here is a rare photo of that eagle coming in for a landing this week, probably bringing back some food for the hungry baby eagle that is waiting in the nest. Look closely and you can see his head. Its about the size of Crosswater logo ball.

Golfweek magazine has ranked Sunriver Resort’s Crosswater Club No. 23 on its 2010 list of the Best Tour Courses You Can Play in its April 23 issue.

Golfweek’s list ranks the top 50 golf courses in the country that host 2010 a PGA, LPGA, Champions or Nationwide tour event, and are open for play for a daily fee.

This year, Crosswater Golf Club will host the JELD-WEN Tradition on the Champions Tour August 16-22 and aired live on the Golf Channel and NBC television.

Because Sunriver Resort sits at 4,100 feet, signs of spring usually come a bit later than lower elevations. Late season snow showers delayed those signs even further this year. But this week we saw our first spring thunderheads of the season.




And just today, with temps in the 60's, the dafodil blooms finally made their appearance.

Spring is NOW definitely here in Sunriver.

Sunriver Resort’s second annual Locals Appreciation Day will be held this Friday, April 16^th. We invited our local Central Oregon golfers to play the Meadows course the day before the official opening… for FREE! (The 120 player limit filled up in less than two hours). It’s our way of saying, “Thank you, Central Oregon, for your support”.   

The day starts with a Nike Golf Demo Day on the practice facility at 10:30 then a little warm up on the practice tee and off we go with a shotgun start on the Meadows course at 12pm. We finish off the day with a post round spread that consists of pulled pork sandwiches, hot dogs and much more. It should be a tremendous day at Sunriver Resort. Thanks, Central Oregon.

Sunriver Resort celebrated its annual Easter Egg Hunt for our guests in the traditional fashion . . .  thousands of Easter eggs filled with candy and toys, giggles from children racing to gather as many eggs as their baskets would hold, the snapping and flashing of cameras as parents and grandparents scurried to capture a priceless memory and the weather complimented it all with a typical Central Oregon day of . . . SNOW?!?!
