Deer sighting at Ft. Funnigan
As the Director of Recreation, I miss the mass of vacationers that summer brings. Obviously we need them to participate in all the great programs we create. However, I also appreciate times like this, when their quantities thin a bit and our guests get to enjoy serene moments like this. Walking along a quiet stretch of our bike path, I came across this beautiful buck resting in the shade outside of our day care center. Sunriver becomes a haven for male deer as hunting season approaches. Of course, this is also a testament to the fact that nature is literally “right outside our door!” How cool is it to have a children’s program where kids can get this close to a wild animal?!
