Central Oregon had a wild winter this year. Meteorologists predicted a strong La Nina in 2010/2011, which meant cold and wet!
The snow started to really pile up in mid November but it then came to a screeching halt in mid January when we had a stretch of very mild days in the 40's. The snow returned in February and really hasn't stopped since then. In fact, Mt. Bachelor, a 20 minute drive from Sunriver, had the most snow EVER this year! As of today, the mountain has recorded 620 inches of snow, breaking the old record of 606" - and it's still snowing today at Mt. Bachelor. (In Sunriver we'll see normal springtime temps in the 60's next week.)
We took advantage of that snowfall in February to record some of the natural winter scenes in and around Sunriver. The four minute video is below:
