I remember when my father started the holiday lighting "contest" for private homes back in the winter of 1971. (Before we moved to SR, he would win his division of lights in our home town. He had to migrate the idea to SR!) There were horse drawn wagon rides, a community decorated Christmas tree in the lodge, full of styrofoam snowmen we all helped make. Wonderful holiday potlucks in the Great Hall. The "shooting" down of large icicles off the lodge. Oh, the good ol' days. (For the old-timers: I still miss the big "buckets" in front of the lodge, especially when frozen!) --Golden
