Since groundbreaking on a snow covered February 25th, construction at the Sunriver Aquatics Center has all been earthwork, trenching, underground utilities, footings, and concrete slabs. This week, for the first time, construction has moved vertical with walls going up on the Community Center building. 
Things are really starting to take shape now. A brand new bike path is also being built along the south side of the construction site, close to where the action is. If you're in the area, stop by and view the progress of what will be an outstanding addition and fun place to go while in Sunriver. Everything remains on schedule for a gala grand opening on Memorial Day, 2012, now less than one year away!!!
Features of the new project will include:
- Outdoor pool
- Indoor pool open year round
- Lazy river float
- Waterslide
- Amphitheater
- Winter sledding hill with warming hut
- Kids playground
- Fitness center workout
- Meeting and gathering rooms
- Bike trails
Looks so fun. I hope they give some kind of deal for homeowners though :-)

Its about time. Ive been going to Sunriver with my family since the early 70"s and the pool used to be cool when there were diving boards but now its outdated and totally undersized.
