One of my favorite things about working at Sunriver Resort is the people that come back year after year. We have an entire season here we call Traditions and it embraces what I am talking about: families coming to Sunriver Resort the same time each year for vacation. Working in the Recreation Department I have had the opportunities to meet countless families while they participate in our programs; I get to see children grow up and learn exciting family news that happened during the last year since I saw them last.
When Labor Day comes each year and the quiet sets in at Fort Funnigan, our state-certified child care day camp where I work, it only takes a week until I long for the children’s voices and their stories and the parents coming and going about their vacation. Children go back to school, everything quiets down and within a week I get some other visitors that have made a tradition of their own and have come back each year since 2009.
The family has changed slightly, like our human families do. However, just like our people guests, these visitors from the forest just can’t resist a rest at Sunriver Resort.
