Transitional Season Party Secrets
This time of year, Sunriver Resort's banquets team receives many requests to shift our events outdoors. In good weather, there is nothing more glorious than hosting a dinner or cocktail event outdoors.
Here, a few party ideas to make your next gathering a little more special:
- Incorporate some of the outdoors into the centerpieces. Try pine cones, river rocks, oblong sections of slate, tree branches or wood rounds, old lanterns, or anything you might find in outside in Central Oregon.
- A simple napkin folds gets a lift when tied with twine and a fragrant herb or fresh flower. We like rosemary, thyme, lavender or pine, but you can use whatever you like!
- Bright, fun colors or patterns are always a hit to add punch to your table linens. Chevron or soft paisleys are especially in-style this season.
- When planning an outdoor event, make sure you have a backup plan in case the weather doesn’t cooperate. We often have a secondary back-up as well! While moving the event indoors is often a last resort, other options include adding outdoor heaters, or renting a party tent with walls and doors.
