High Desert Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation has been a lifeline for of the area’s most vulnerable creatures. The center provides help to injured or abandoned animals found in the wild.
On March 30, they invited the public to an open house at the four-acre ranch east of Bend that serves as their headquarters in order to celebrate the center’s one-year anniversary. At this event, they shared a few helpful tips for living alongside wildlife and even had a visit from a golden eagle brought by the folks from The Sunriver Nature Center.
Through the first year, High Desert Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation has treated hundreds of animals from baby skunks and squirrels, rabbits to birds of prey, and fawns to reptiles. Most of the animals that come through there are eventually released, either directly from the center or through their cooperative partners at the Sunriver Nature Center. Check out some of the amazing pictures captured at this fun celebration!
