Like most places, a sure sign of spring in Central Oregon and Sunriver is the abundance of wildflife that emerges from the long, cold winter. This week, a herd of elk have been hanging around the Sunriver meadow next to the stables and airport. This particular herd is not as skittish as most, so visitors have a rare opportunity to view these magnificent animals at relatively close, but safe, range.
