Over the weekend, Sunriver Resort hosted a delicious tasting event in the lobby of the main lodge. Guests were treated to samples of craft beer from Widmer Brothers, world class cheeses from Tumalo Farms, and several great wines from the Chateau Ste. Michelle collection.
The conversation around the table was lively as the presenters from each company chatted with guests about their products. The Tumalo Classico and Rimrocker cheeses were a big hit and an easy pair with both beer and wine. The Rimrocker paired with the Pitch Black IPA was especially popular. Kathleen Avila poured the Cold Creek Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay, as well as the Canoe Ridge Merlot and the Eroica Riesling from the Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery in Washington. Many guests agreed the Cold Creek Chardonnay paired extremely well with the award winning Tumalo Classico, a farmstead goat’s milk cheese handcrafted just up the highway from Sunriver.
Many of the guests were on their way to dinner at the Meadows Restaurant or the Owl’s Nest Bar & Grill. The tasting made at least some of the dining choices easier, as most of the products featured at the tasting were made available on the menus at the restaurants.
