At Sage Springs Spa Men Can Get Pampered Too
Working for a resort and booking meetings, incentives and retreats, I tend to keep up on all aspects of resort amenities and offerings. Everywhere you turn these days, there are articles about resort spa’s, and spa’s in general, catering to men these days. It is more socially acceptable for men to choose spa over golf when on site for an event or incentive. Heck, my 67 year old father just told me the other day that he went and got a pedicure with my mom. And asked if he would do it again and he said “In a heartbeat, my feet were so soft.” My dad?! If you knew him as I, you would be surprised too and listening to him explain the whole experience was hilarious. But, the matter of the fact is, that it is ok for men to go to the spa an get pampered too. And our Sage Spring Club and Spa is one of the best at this.
Not only are they one of the best with “man” icures, they are one of the best all around. Recently, the Sage Springs Club and Spa was voted as one of the 100 Best Resort Spa’s in the U.S. according the readers of Conde’ Nast traveler, beating out many nationally know resort spas. A great accomplishment, that is enjoyed by many resort guests.
There are treatment’s designed directly for men at the Sage Springs Club and Spa and I did not know where to start. I’ve had massages before, so now what? So, at the suggestion of Devon Scanlon, Club Director, I decided to get out my comfort zone and experience a Oregon Hazelnut Scrub with Vichy Shower, followed by a Sage Springs Pedicure and Manicure.
During my treatments, I had a chance to speak with my therapists, Debbie and Kimberly about their mix of clientele. Both said that through the years, more and more men are coming in for treatments. The men are locals, here on vacation, or just relaxing before, between or after events. Kimberly, who does manicures and pedicures, told me that more than a third of her pedicures are for men.
Well, I have to tell you, I’m absolutely wild about the treatments and over all whole experience I had. Along with the spa, the treatments were relaxing and refreshing. I just wondering now, that I might need to try out a couple more treatments just to make sure I’m totally ok with my new “comfort zone”.
