TRADITIONS AT SUNRIVER RESORT: A MONTH-LONG CELEBRATION OF THE HOLIDAYS AND THE FAMILIES WHO ENJOY THEM

(SUNRIVER, Ore.)—As the leaves begin to turn and the nights get colder, anticipation is building in Central Oregon for the annual Traditions at Sunriver Resort. This month-long celebration of the holidays starts in earnest with the Grand Illumination on Friday, Nov. 27, and culminates with the Polar Bear Plunge on New Year’s Day. In between, Resort guests and the general public will find more than 150 family-friendly activities and events created in the spirit of holiday tradition.

Grand Illumination
On Nov. 27, Central Oregon’s largest holiday light display comes to life during Sunriver Resort’s Grand Illumination, which also features free sleigh rides, live music, a magician, holiday characters, a special appearance by Santa and Mrs. Claus, and more.

Gingerbread Junction
With more than 100 extravagantly decorated gingerbread homes lining Cinnamon Lane, Gingerbread Junction is the largest collection of gingerbread houses in the Northwest. On display in the Sunriver Lodge, Gingerbread Junction is truly a sight to behold.

Sleigh Rides
What better way to get into the holiday spirit than a traditional sleigh ride through the snowy meadows of Sunriver Resort and along the banks of the Deschutes River. Curl up under a blanket with family and loved ones for a trip to be remembered.
 
Breakfast with Santa
Kids of all ages can tell Santa to please pass the jam at this magical breakfast buffet held every Saturday and Sunday during Traditions.

Teddy Bear Tea
Every Saturday, parents and children can come for a real tea party with their favorite teddy bear in tow. Enjoy finger sandwiches, desserts, fine teas and holiday cheer in the Hearth Room at Sunriver Lodge.

Elf Tuck-Ins
To cap off a day of fun at Sunriver Resort, Santa’s little helpers are available to visit your room or rental house to tuck them in for the night.

Family Christmas Concert
Families can enjoy live music with a special sing-along concert of Christmas and holiday tunes the whole family will enjoy.
