Golf Digest magazine has ranked Crosswater Golf Club at Sunriver Resort, managed by Destination Hotels & Resorts, No. 28 on its latest list of 'America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses' – leaping a significant 18 spots from the 2003 rankings. The 2005 list appears in the May issue of the magazine.
Designed by Bob Cupp, Crosswater was inspired by the legendary highlands of Scotland. The heathland-style course that opened in 1995 offers a perfect blend of strategy and aesthetics. Its unusually wide range of fairway lengths and constant interplay of wetlands, ponds and rivers create a unique 18-hole hole experience, playing to par 72, 7,683 yards, with a course rating of 76.5 and slope of 153.
Crosswater is part of the Sunriver Resort and community located on 605 acres in Sunriver, Ore., along the Big Deschutes and Little Deschutes Rivers. It regularly has been among Golf Digest’s Top 100 selections, also making the bi-annual list of best public courses in 2003 (46th), May 2001(96th) and May 1999. Crosswater also was designated a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary by Audubon International, May 1999.
Sunriver Resort is the Northwest's most popular resort destination. Offering more than 500 deluxe accommodations, including the beautifully renovated Lodge Village rooms and suites and the remarkable River Lodges, the Resort also offers the largest rental selection of private resort homes and condominiums in Sunriver.
