Sunriver Resort puts the Accent on Relaxing with New Romantic Getaway Package

Perhaps it's only fitting that Sunriver Resort's newest lodging package is good up until April 15, 2007. For when Tax Day arrives, it will mean an end to the Central Oregon property's "River Lodges Relaxer" package, in which guests not only receive an attractive rate and array of value-laden add-ons but they won't be asked to pay for nightly room taxes.
Plus, there's much more to this romantic weekend getaway package, which is available now at this Destination Hotels & Resorts property. Here's a closer look:
River Lodges accommodations. These exquisite guestrooms offer spectacular views, both inside and outside (plus a private deck), as well as an in-room coffee maker with Sunriver Coffee Co. specialty beans and grinder, waffle-weave bathrobes, spacious bathroom with soaking tub and shower, stone-wall gas fireplace and raised hearth, and triple-sheeted king beds with down comforters.
His & Her Massages. How appropriate that this package, with a focus on relaxing, comes with two tension taming "Riverside Relaxer" 50-minute Swedish massages at the resort's Sage Springs Club and Spa.
Sleigh Ride for Two. 'Tis the season for a romantic sleigh ride through the snow on an official Sunriver Resort open sleigh. It doesn't get any more romantic than this.
Sunday Brunch. The perfect capper to a weekend visit is the popular Champagne Brunch at Meadows at the Lodge restaurant.
The "River Lodges Relaxer" two-night minimum package is priced at $375 per night (double occupancy), while the room tax (a near $130 savings for two nights) and gratuities (for the Sunday Brunch and two massages) are waived.
The package also can be reserved mid-week, with an exchange of the Sunday Brunch for either breakfast at Meadows at the Lodge restaurant or in-room dining. (Holiday rates and minimum-stay requirements apply during the week between Christmas and New Year's Day.)
And it wouldn't be the holidays at Sunriver Resort without Traditions, the five-week event now in its eighth year that captures the very best of the magical season. Guests can enjoy a wide array of activities including elf tuck-ins, moonlight snowshoe tours, sleigh rides and much more (www.sunriver-resort.com/traditions) from Thanksgiving through Jan. 1.
Sunriver Resort, a perennial AAA Four-Diamond award winner, is one of only 13 resorts in North America to make Conde Nast Traveler's "Top 50 Ski Resorts" rankings every year since it was introduced in 1996. Mt. Bachelor Ski and Snowboard Resort's 9,065-foot mountain is but 18 miles away and features 10 chair lifts, 3,683 acres of skiing and 70 downhill runs.
Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trails, meanwhile, are conveniently accessible from Sunriver Resort.
Reservations and additional information can be obtained by calling (800) 737-1054 or logging on to the Sunriver Resort web site at www.sunriver-resort.com
