Sunriver Resort Presents Second Annual Sunriver Marathon for a Cause

SUNRIVER, OR – The Sunriver Resort presents the Second Annual Sunriver Marathon for a Cause this weekend. On Saturday September 1st there will be a family 5K fun run/walk, a 10K run/walk and a children’s race. The marathon, a Boston Qualifier and half marathon run/walk will be held on Sunday September 2nd.

Proceeds benefit the Oregon and Southwest Washington Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, which helps to fund more than 8,000 mammograms each year for uninsured and underinsured women in Oregon. For the past 20 years, Komen Oregon has invested more than $20 million throughout Oregon and SW Washington to fund breast-cancer screening and treatment for local women.

All races will begin and end at the Sunriver Main Lodge. Parking is available at the main lodge. The best locations to cheer on your runner are the Sunriver Resort Main Lodge, Caldera Springs Lake House or Sunriver Stables.

A variety of activities will take place throughout the holiday weekend, including a vendor expo which will also include breast cancer awareness tables, finisher’s celebration tent and music for all to enjoy.
