SUNRIVER RESORT LOOKS TO HIRE AS MANY AS 250 LOCAL EMPLOYEES FOR PEAK SEASON

Career Fair Scheduled For Saturday, April 18 From 10am-2pm At Sunriver Resort

(SUNRIVER, Ore.)-In preparation for its peak season, which generally runs from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend, Sunriver Resort is planning to hire as many as 250 seasonal employees and has eliminated the international hiring program it relied on to fill as many as 85 seasonal jobs a year since 2006. The Resort will be conducting a career fair on Saturday, April 18, from 10am to 2pm in their Homestead Room for candidates interested in any of the available positions.

"With today's economic climate and with Deschutes County's current unemployment rate well above 10 percent, we have access to a local labor force that is willing and eager to find work, even in a seasonal capacity," said Tom O'Shea, managing director of Sunriver Resort. "Many of these individuals were employed elsewhere in the region a year ago, and this gives them a chance to get back into the workforce and learn new skills in the process."

A variety of seasonal positions are available, including front desk agents, golf guest services, greenskeepers, stewards, recreation aids, housekeepers, cooks, servers and more. Most of the seasonal positions last through Labor Day, with some positions available until October.
