SUNRIVER RESORT BUOYED BY DEBUT OF DELTA AIRLINES’ JET SERVICE

With its outstanding facilities, excellent year-round climate and incomparable recreational opportunities — including 54 holes of championship golf — Sunriver Resort in Central Oregon has long been a meeting planner’s dream, not to mention the Pacific Northwest’s premier year-round destination.

Oh, that is, except for the lack of jet service — the No. 1 objection the Resort has heard over the years from meeting planners around the nation.

Problem solved. Beginning March 1, Delta Air Lines has announced it will make its debut at the nearby Redmond Airport (RDM) with two daily direct jet flights to and from its Salt Lake City hub. It will be Central Oregon’s only air service east and provide link to 64 cities Delta serves in the U.S. and Canada.

From Redmond, daily departures on Delta Connection carrier SkyWest Airlines are 6:45 a.m. and 1:25 p.m. Salt Lake City-to-Redmond flights will depart at 11:20 a.m. and 8:35 p.m. Flight time aboard the 50-seat turbofan Canadair Regional Jet 200 Bombardier jets is about 75 minutes.
Currently, only United Express and Horizon Air offer daily direct flights out of Redmond — servicing Portland, Seattle and San Francisco — with smaller planes that carry fewer than two dozen passengers.

Sunriver Resort also boasts its own airstrip, where corporate and private aircraft can fly guests practically to the Resort’s front door.
