Sunriver Resort Announces Major Renovation Project at Prestigious Crosswater Club
Greens Reconstruction To Begin Late August on Luxury Central Oregon Course

(Sunriver, Ore.) —As Crosswater Golf Club enters its seventeenth season in operation, the highly acclaimed golf course will undergo a major renovation to its greens. The $500,000 capital project will commence in mid August of 2011; and the golf course will re-open in Spring of 2012.
The Crosswater greens project is an intricate process that focused removing the existing layer of organic matter beneath the greens. Though the process is relatively common among elite courses, two unique considerations have been addressed by the construction committee. The first includes elaborate steps to ensure the original undulation of the greens is preserved, and the second focuses on maintaining a commitment as a certified Audubon Sanctuary throughout the reconstruction process.
The recipient of 26 prestigious national awards, including Golf Digest “Top 100 courses in America” and “Top 100 course you can play” from Golf Magazine, the restored greens will ensure the 7,683 yard Robert E Cupp course remains a Top 100 venue for years to come.
“The restoration will use T-1 bent grass -- a new generation of creeping bent grass that is more resilient in extreme temperatures, and aggressive against poa annua intrusion,” said Crosswater Club Manager Josh Willis. “We are confident this new turf will maintain a championship putting surface attractive to members, resort guests and affiliates such as the PGA, USGA, and NCAA Championships.”
Sunriver Resort courses are slated for a busy tournament season in 2011, including the AJGA Rolex Tournament of Champions and the Ghost Tree Invitational which will both take place at the Crosswater Club. Additionally, the Meadows Golf Course will play host to the 57th Annual Pacific Northwest Junior Boys Amateur Championship.
