Run, Run As Fast As You Can ... To Bake A Gingerbread House
Entry forms with payment are due by Friday, November 10 for the 11th annual Gingerbread Junction, which benefits the Mountain Star Family Relief Nursery. The event is co-sponsored by Sunriver Resort and the Central Oregon Builders Association.
Entry forms are available at Bellatazza in Downtown Bend, Sunriver Realty in Sunriver and Bend, Sunriver Resort and online at www.sunriver-resort.com/gingerbread. Completed entry forms should be mailed to Gingerbread Junction, P.O. Box 1602, Bend, Oregon, 97709.
Gingerbread Junction features three "lot choice" options for purchase - Small (1' x 1') for $15, Medium (1' x 1.5') for $25 and Large (2' x 3') for $50. All proceeds from the lot sales will be donated to the Mountain Star Family Relief Nursery, while Sunriver Resort will make a dollar-for-dollar matching donation.
There are five different categories: adult individual, business, elementary (K-5), middle school and high school (6-12) and children's individual. Prizes will be awarded in various categories. All houses must be 51 percent edible, and may not exceed lot dimensions. Electrical connections are also available for the homes that require them.
All completed houses must be delivered to Sunriver Lodge or Sunriver Realty in Bend (50 SW Bond St., Suite 1) on either Sunday, November 19 or Monday, November 20 between 2 - 4 pm. Gingerbread houses will be on display in the North Pole at Sunriver Lodge and other locations around the resort from November 25 - December 30.
