Re-LAX-ing in Central Oregon

SUNRIVER, Ore., July 17, 2006 ... In celebration of the inaugural nonstop jet service linking Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to Central Oregon, Sunriver Resort, a Destination Hotels & Resorts property 15 miles south of Bend, Ore., is offering Southern California residents an attractive getaway package.

The resort’s “Re-LAX in Central Oregon” package — available Aug. 1 — starts at $1,323 for a seven-night stay in one of the resort’s Lodge Village guestrooms, or at $1,499 for a comparable length stay in one of the resort’s impressive inventory of more than 400 family-friendly private two-bedroom homes or condominiums. Guests who opt to stay in a private home or condo also will receive the Sunriver Resort FunPak, featuring over $1,000 in resort and recreation discounts through September 4, 2006.

Horizon Air (Alaska Airlines) will begin operating the 74-seat flights on Aug. 1 and is offering a special introductory, one-way fare of $99 for some flights taken through Nov. 17. Available twice daily, the two-hour, 35-minute direct route takes passengers from LAX to Roberts Field in Redmond, Ore. (RDM), 35 miles north of Sunriver Resort. The route is not currently operated by any other airline. (Airfare and flight reservations are the sole responsibility of the guest and are not built into the package or the package price.)
