DIRECTOR OF SALES NAMED BOARD CHAIR

SUNRIVER, Ore., Nov. 14, 2007 … Chris Otto, Sunriver Resort’s director of sales, is the new chairperson of the Oregon Lodging Association’s board of directors. Otto was installed earlier this month at the venerable organization’s annual conference at the Hilton Portland and Executive Tower in downtown Portland.
Otto, who joined Sunriver Resort in 2006 from Valley River Inn in Eugene, Ore., has been on the OLA’s board for six years, and most recently served as vice chair. He will guide the 21-person board for a one-year term.
Among his duties during his chairmanship include leading the board’s quarterly meetings, paying particular focus to room tax issues, and representing the OLA as part of an Oregon delegation to Washington, D.C. for the American Hotel & Lodging Association’s 2008 Legislative Action Summit in March.
Established in 1946, the Oregon Lodging Association is a statewide organization representing approximately 1,100 hotels, motels, resorts, bed-and-breakfasts, recreational vehicle parks and related businesses. In addition to offering member benefit programs, OLA provides information and education and is active in lobbying efforts at local, state and national levels.
Sunriver Resort will host the OLA’s annual conference in 2008.
Otto, 41, who is married with three children, was born and raised in Northern California and is a 1989 graduate of California State University, Sacramento, with a degree in recreation and leisure studies.
