Executive Chef Travis has brought a keen eye for fresh, seasonal ingredients along with an imaginative palette to create extraordinary culinary moments. Featuring a wide array of cuisine and ambiance, all restaurants have three things in common - great service, delicious dishes and spectacular views.
Sunriver Resort invites both new and returning guests to come back and (re)discover all the property has to offer with the completion of four new dining options. Part of a $50 million property revitalization that took place over a five year period, the project included a revamped and remodeled restaurant, lobby bar and tavern.
Executive Chef - Sunriver Resort
Chef Travis Taylor started his career with Sunriver Resort in 2002 as a cook at Crosswater Grille, his ambition, creativity and passion for cooking has lead him to multiple promotions and most recently he was promoted to Resort Executive Chef. Chef Taylor brings over 20 years of cooking expertise to his role. He started his cooking career as an apprentice at the Jacksonville Inn in Jacksonville, Oregon. From there he moved to the McCaually House Inn where he was able to experience cooking with produce grown on site. In this position, he realized that it makes sense for chefs to locally source ingredients from the farmers and producers. When he arrived to Sunriver he knew that he had found his professional home, and every day he is inspired by the region's beauty, farms and producers.
From the day he first took a cooking class at age 16, Chef Travis Taylor knew that he had found his calling in life and cooking was what he was born to do. He loves what he does and his passion for cooking comes out in the flavorful tastes of each and every one of his dishes. His philosophy is simple - buy the best ingredients, create lasting relationships with your producers, be true to the region and seasons, surround yourself with like-minded people and above all, have fun!
When Travis isn't in the kitchen, he can be found running on the beautiful trails in Bend with his fiancée.
Iron Chef Oregon 2014 Winners - Chef Travis Taylor and Chef Fabrice Beaudoin!
After winning the Bite of Bend's Top Chef Competition, Chef Travis Taylor and his sous Chef Fabrice Beaudoin took their culinary skills to the big stage to compete at Bite of Oregon's Iron Chef Competition. Travis Taylor of Sunriver Resort took home the coveted Iron Chef Oregon title during the two-day, three-round event Aug. 8 and 9 in Portland, Oregon. The talented duo beat out the reigning champion when challenged with the task of incorporating duck breast and dark Oregon cherries into their winning dish. The winning entrée consisted of duck prepared two ways - crispy duck with an apple, arugula and garden vegetable salad with a hazelnut dressing, and pan seared duck with roasted potatoes and a cherry chutney and cherry chipotle puree.
Bite of Bend - 2014 Top Chef Winners
Congratulations to Sunriver Resort's own Chef Travis Taylor and his Sous Chef Fabrice Beaudoin on winning this year's Bite of Bend Top Chef Competition! The duo competed on June 28th and 29th in downtown Bend against some of Bend's most talented chefs. The competition is a live culinary battle held on stage at Bite of Bend. The creativity and focus of our chefs lead them to a victory in the final round. The duo will compete on August 8th in the Oregon Top Chef competition and we couldn't be more proud!
