I'll never forget one late, hot summer afternoon I rented a single person kayak from the Sunriver marina and floated down the Deschutes river on my back for 3 hours; eagles and osprey soaring overhead and the fish jumping all around. Probably the most peaceful I've ever felt. Every once in a while I could hear a family's laughter echoing in the canyons and then they would float by me in a raft. They would pass and I would feel like I was the only one on the river again. It was great!
