Destination Guide

Right now everyone here at Sunriver Resort is getting their skis tuned and geared up for the upcoming ski season, me included, but it is never too early to start working on that swing for next spring!  I’m talking about golf not baseball!

Nine times out of ten when I’m describing activities here at Sunriver Resort to a prospective client for their meeting or incentive the first thing I always talk about is golf. You see, we have 63 holes of award winning golf here. Yes, 63 holes!  There are not many resorts that can say that.

Since most groups are here for three or four nights they can have a different golf experience every day if they wish.  From the exclusive Crosswater Course, chosen by Golf Digest as one of “America’s Top 100 Courses”, to the award winning Meadows and Woodlands courses.  We even have a wonderful 3 par 9 hole course at Caldera Springs.  All owned and operated by Sunriver Resort.  So, you as the meeting planner have the same great Sunriver Resort staff at each course.

The big news right now though is the $500,000 replacement of all 18 greens on the Crosswater course, which is just wrapping up and will be pristine for next years’ golf season.  Designed by award winning architect, Bob Cupp, Crosswater is semi private and only open to members and resorts guest.  A certified Audubon Sanctuary and situated within forested meadows and carefully preserved wetlands, Crosswater is threaded by the Deschutes and Little Deschutes Rivers. It is truly more than a golf experience, simply because of the spectacular scenery and wildlife surrounding the area.

Crosswater Greens

Golf season at Sunriver Resort runs from mid April through October. Contact me now to have your group be one of the first to play the new greens at Crosswater or any other of our fine courses.  I can be reached at 541-593-3777 or by email at twells@destinationhotels.com
